Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, & Berkowitz, PC has an opening for a Legal Support Coordinator in its Johnson City, TN office. Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of legal experience; have administrative experience, exceptional communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within a group or independently. Candidate should be proficient in MS Word (high priority), Outlook and Excel and type a minimum of 65 words per minute with high accuracy. This position will support several attorneys. The candidate should be detail oriented and able to work well in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Prioritizing and executing tasks quickly and accurately
- Formatting and setting up documents including pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Prepare shell documents for attorneys in preparation of discovery, orders, motions, and trial documents
- Filing litigation documents with state and federal courts – knowledge of electronic filing is required
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Update and maintain files in a timely manner
- Time entry, processing client bills, conducting client conflict checks, transcribing dictation
- Maintain calendars with litigation dates and deadlines as well as other necessary dates
- Reviewing vendor invoices and requesting checks for payment in a timely manner
- Assisting attorneys and paralegals in preparation for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials
