For the past 30 years Mr. Davis has represented marine, energy and insurance clients in arbitration and litigation matters.

Mr. Davis is bilingual (English and Spanish) and has a working knowledge of French and Portuguese. He has been awarded the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory which is the highest possible rating for legal ability and ethical standards.

  • Represented a contractor specializing in disaster restoration services in claims arising out of the proposed charter of a passenger ship following a hurricane.

  • Litigation

  • Represented a British Virgin Islands company in obtaining $42 million in security for forward freight agreements dispute pending before London High Court.
  • Defended a state-owned oil company against antitrust claims.
  • Defended an offshore drilling company against claims brought by a major oil company arising out of a riser separation incident in the Gulf of Mexico during deep water drilling operations.

  • Represented owners, hull and machinery underwriters and the P&I Club of a passenger ship in claims arising out of a major collision with a bulk carrier at the mouth of the Mississippi River.

  • Represented European financial institution in a first preferred ship mortgage foreclosure action against two parcel tankers in Houston and New Orleans. Numerous competing liens arising under the laws of various foreign countries had to be defended. Client successfully recovered proceeds in excess of $45 million from the public auction sale of both ships.

  • Represented vessel interests and their underwriters in claims arising out of sinkings, allisions and collisions in the Panama Canal.
