Three Baker Donelson Attorneys Elected to Board of Directors

Carmalita "CC" Carletos-Drayton, Bruce C. Doeg and Ty Kelly have been elected to Baker Donelson's board of directors by the Firm's shareholders.

Ms. Drayton, a shareholder in the Firm's Memphis office, represents government entities and corporations that interact with government entities. As a member of the Firm's Real Estate and Environmental practices, Ms. Drayton focuses on commercial real estate transactions involving government entities, land use and zoning matters, economic development matters related to "PILOT" (payment-in-lieu-of taxes) transactions, and local and state government incentives. A graduate of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Ms. Drayton is a member of the Memphis Bar Association and a graduate of its annual leadership forum. She is a fellow of the Memphis Bar Foundation and a member of the American Bar Association. Ms. Drayton serves as co-chair of the Retention Committee that is part of the Baker Donelson Women's Initiative Committee and is a member of the Firm's Recruiting Committee. She has been recognized by the Memphis Business Journal among its "Super Women in Business" (2018) and "Best of the Bar" (2021) honorees.

Mr. Doeg, a shareholder in the Firm's Nashville office and co-chair of the Firm's Privacy and Technology Center of Excellence, concentrates his practice in the area of business law with an emphasis on rapidly changing industries, including technology, digital health and life sciences. Previous leadership positions at Baker Donelson include roles as chief strategic officer, Business Department head and Nashville office managing shareholder. He currently leads the Firm's Digital Health Initiative. The Best Lawyers in America® has recognized Mr. Doeg since 2003, and he was named the Best Lawyers' 2020 Nashville Information Technology Law "Lawyer of the Year" and a "Power Leader in Technology" by the Nashville Business Journal (2011 – 2013). A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and Duke University, Mr. Doeg is a member of the American, Tennessee, Knoxville, Nashville and Delaware Bar Associations. He currently serves as the vice chair of LaunchTN and is a board member of BioTN and The Contributor.

Ms. Kelly, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, practices out of Baker Donelson's Washington, D.C. and Baltimore offices. She represents companies and individuals in high-stakes litigation and white collar criminal matters nationwide. Ms. Kelly is recognized by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers in Band 1 for Litigation: White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations in Maryland. She has also been listed in Maryland Super Lawyers since 2015 and in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2018 in the practice area of Criminal Defense: White Collar.  In 2021, she was also named a Leadership in Law honoree by the Daily Record. A graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Ms. Kelly is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Baltimore County Bar Association, Women's White Collar Defense Association, and a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference. Ms. Kelly previously served as Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Maryland and as a Trial Attorney for the Department of Justice, Fraud Section, where she received the U.S. Attorney's Office Barney Skolnik Award and the U.S. Attorney's Office Award for Excellence in Prosecution of Fraud.
