For the past six years, Mr. Duff has managed the Howard Baker Forum, a public and international affairs affiliate of Baker Donelson. The Forum was founded by former Senator Howard Baker in Washington, D.C. to provide a platform for examining specific, immediate, critical issues affecting the nation’s progress at home and its relations abroad. In recent years, it has focused primarily on cyber security, data privacy, nuclear energy, supply chain resilience, autonomous vehicles, and other emerging technologies. Mr. Duff works closely with think tanks, academia, and the private sector to develop and host events for clients across the world.
The Howard Baker Forum has several longstanding programs, including the U.S.-Japan Roundtable, which aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries and improve public understanding of nuclear energy. The Roundtable facilitates relationships between its American and Japanese members through conferences, meetings, and workshops and examines American and Japanese policy and business environments through first-person interactions with politicians, senior government officials, scientists, policy analysts and business executives. Mr. Duff has worked closely which Japanese companies and government entities on nuclear energy, clean energy policy, supply chain resilience, and data governance.
In Washington, Mr. Duff works as an Advisor at the Firm on regulatory and legislative matters. He has advised clients on direct foreign investment in the U.S., energy policy, autonomous vehicle, electric vehicles, immigration issues, and general political analysis, among other areas.
Mr. Duff has over 15 years of experience working in Washington. Prior to joining Baker Donelson, he worked on-site at several federal agencies as a Management Consultant for Acuity, Inc. Mr. Duff has a degree in finance from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and a law degree from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University.
