Baker Donelson has added Alexandra L. Neifert as a shareholder in the Firm's Baltimore office and a member of the Real Estate Group. Ms. Neifert's practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions and related business matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, development, construction, and land use matters. She represents developers, owners, builders, investors, contractors, landlords, and tenants across a broad range of commercial real estate projects.
Ms. Neifert joins the Firm with significant experience advising clients throughout the lifecycle of real estate ownership, development, and operation. Her work includes negotiating and drafting commercial leases for office, warehouse, retail, and ground lease properties; handling acquisition, development, construction, and permanent financing matters; and advising on title, survey, easement, covenant, and land development issues. She also has experience with portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, secured financing transactions, and real estate matters involving data center development.
Her addition further expands Baker Donelson's real estate capabilities in the Mid-Atlantic region and enhances the Firm's ability to serve clients involved in commercial development, investment, financing, leasing, and infrastructure-related projects, including the growing data center sector.
"Alex brings a well-rounded real estate practice that spans transactions, development, financing, leasing, and dispute resolution," said Jennifer L. Curry, managing shareholder of the Firm's Baltimore office. "Her experience advising owners, developers, investors, and other stakeholders across complex projects will strengthen our real estate platform in Baltimore and support the continued growth of our work throughout the region."
In addition to her transactional practice, Ms. Neifert advises clients on a variety of real estate-related disputes, including landlord-tenant matters, lease enforcement actions, quiet title claims, and boundary disputes. Her combination of transactional and litigation-related experience enables her to provide practical guidance on both the legal and business aspects of real estate matters.
"Baker Donelson's comprehensive approach and broad geographic platform create valuable opportunities for clients with real estate needs that extend across jurisdictions and industries," said Ms. Neifert. "I look forward to working with my new colleagues to help clients navigate transactions, development projects, financing matters, and other complex real estate issues."
Before joining Baker Donelson, Ms. Neifert served as co-managing partner of her former firm's Baltimore office and co-chair of its Women's Initiative Network. She began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Audrey J.S. Carrión of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
Ms. Neifert, who earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, has been recognized as a Maryland Rising Stars honoree in Real Estate since 2023. Her professional and community involvement includes service on the board of directors of St. Elizabeth School, prior service on the board of directors of Waverly Main Street, participation as a Business Volunteers Maryland GIVE Fellow, membership in CREW Baltimore, and involvement with the Real Property Section of the Maryland State Bar Association.
