Sheila leverages her chemistry training and pharmaceutical industry experience to represent clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including contractual disputes over provider contracts, indemnification provisions, lease terms, restrictive covenants, shareholder disputes, and trade secret misappropriation. She litigates state and federal environmental disputes, products liability claims, including opioid matters, and toxic torts, all matters in which her scientific background is invaluable. Sheila also uses her experience to counsel clients conducting environmental due diligence and products liability risk assessments related to transactions and regulatory requirements. She provides general counsel advice to a large New Jersey non-profit organization.
Sheila brings decades of environmental litigation experience, having begun her career handling complex matters under the Spill Act, CERCLA, and other Superfund regimes, regularly representing both private property owners and governmental entities. Her work includes defending a proposed class action involving alleged groundwater contamination for a major energy company, as well as litigating asbestos and other toxic tort claims. Sheila's background as a chemist further enhances her ability to navigate technically intensive disputes, including cases involving soil and water contamination, and she has been repeatedly relied upon for high stakes environmental, toxic tort, and personal-injury matters, including PFAS related litigation.
Sheila has advised employers on more than 200 AAA arbitrations involving employment claims, ERISA, and severance issues.
