Sabrina Marquez is an associate in Baker Donelson's Baltimore office. Her practice consists of defending both corporations and individuals in government investigations, enforcement and whistleblower actions, civil rights litigation, and class action lawsuits. Ms. Marquez also assists clients in a wide range of industries with internal investigations, including regulatory compliance.

Before joining Baker Donelson, Ms. Marquez served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Douglas R. M. Nazarian in the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland.

  • Represented numerous health care providers and entities in state and federal civil and criminal investigations nationwide involving alleged violations of state and federal False Claims Acts and the Anti-Kickback Statute, while conducting parallel internal investigations into the same.

  • Assisted in the defense of municipalities concerning constitutional claims including 42 U.S.C. 1983 actions, and co-chaired two federal jury trials that required numerous witness interviews, depositions, and examinations.

  • Conducted an internal investigation for an accreditation provider related to HIPAA concerns. The investigation included numerous witness interviews, legal and policy analysis, and preparation of a confidential report for the client with key investigative findings and recommendations.

  • Assisted in the defense of a major domestic automotive manufacturer in a putative class action in the Central District of California involving allegations of defective exhaust manifolds in best-selling trucks. Participated in drafting the motion to dismiss, which was granted in its entirety.

  • Assisted in the defense of a major domestic automotive manufacturer in a putative class action in the Eastern District of Michigan involving allegations of defective shifter bushings in a series of vehicles. Participated in drafting the motion to dismiss, which was granted in its entirety on prudential mootness grounds.
