Baker Donelson has been named a finalist in five categories of the 25th Annual M&A Advisor Awards. The annual awards program, presented by The M&A Advisor, recognizes notable transactions, firms, and professionals in the mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and financing industries.
Baker Donelson's finalist recognitions stem from its representation of clients in two health care transactions involving significant business, regulatory, and operational considerations.
The Firm was recognized for its representation of The Prescription Center, an operator of both specialty and retail pharmacy businesses, in connection with a sale to a private equity buyer. The transaction involved complex transactional and regulatory issues arising from the combination of pharmacy businesses and ownership transition requirements. The Baker Donelson team was led by Shareholders Anjana D. Patel and Randall H. Lee and included attorneys from the Firm's health care transaction practice. It was named a finalist in the Healthcare/Life Sciences Deal of the Year (Under $100 Million) and M&A Deal of the Year ($25 Million to $50 Million) categories.
Baker Donelson was also recognized for its role as legal counsel to Cumberland Pharmaceuticals Inc. in its agreement with an affiliate of Apotex Inc., Canada's largest pharmaceutical company and manufacturer of generic drugs, to integrate their branded U.S. businesses. The Baker Donelson team was led by Shareholders Tonya Mitchem Grindon and Nathan Kibler. The transaction was selected as a finalist in three categories: Healthcare/Life Sciences Deal of the Year ($100 Million to $1 Billion), Cross-Border Deal of the Year ($100 Million to $250 Million), and Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year ($100 Million to $250 Million).
"These transactions involved significant strategic and operational considerations for our clients at important points in their growth and development," said Ms. Grindon, chair of Baker Donelson's Business Department. "Our work focused on helping clients navigate complex legal and regulatory issues while advancing their business objectives. The recognition reflects the collaboration among our clients, attorneys, and other advisors in helping these transactions move forward successfully."
Finalists for the 25th Annual M&A Advisor Awards were selected by an independent judging committee composed of professionals across the mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and financing sectors. Winners will be announced during the 2026 Future of Dealmaking Summit in New York City.
