The use of service and emotional support animals has risen sharply in recent years, and employers have increasingly found themselves faced with requests from their employees to use animals as a reasonable accommodation for their disability. This presentation explores how the law treats service animals differently from emotional support animals, when employees are entitled to use animals as a reasonable accommodation for their disability, and when businesses are required to allow guests to bring such animals on their premises.
