Rolf is a multilingual attorney with in-house and litigation experience advising technology companies and closely held businesses on cross-border legal and operational matters. He advises construction clients in contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
His experience as a litigator includes representing corporate and governmental clients in complex civil disputes in state and federal courts. He has defended clients in multimillion-dollar class actions and represented local governments in matters involving, among other issues, zoning challenges, wrongful termination claims, wrongful death claims, and excessive force allegations.
He also served as general counsel for a private equity-backed software company, advising executive leadership on risk, compliance, and strategic legal matters across a multientity global organization with legal entities in four countries, team members in 29 countries, and customers in more than 80 countries. In this role, he built and scaled legal operations, partnered with HR on global employment risk, advised product and engineering teams on go-to-market and feature launches with a focus on privacy and data protection requirements, managed outside counsel across U.S. and international jurisdictions, and led post-acquisition legal integration across four acquired businesses.
Rolf has worked with international teams and foreign counterparties on multijurisdictional issues spanning the U.S., Europe, and Latin America, and serves as a resource on cross-border matters requiring foreign language capabilities or analysis of foreign legal frameworks. He has also participated in internal investigations involving alleged bribery, tax, and immigration violations and has provided preventive and remedial compliance training on anti-bribery and anti-corruption matters.
Rolf is fluent in Spanish and German, and he is proficient in French.
