Katelyn Dodd is an associate in Baker Donelson's Birmingham office and member of the Advocacy Department.

Professional Biography

Katelyn is an associate in the Birmingham office and a member of the Construction Practice Group. As a construction attorney, Katelyn represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and firms, and suppliers in all aspects of construction law, including drafting and negotiating contracts, obtaining necessary licenses and defending licensees in disciplinary proceedings or investigations, pursuing and defending claims, arbitrating disputes, and litigating matters in jury and bench trials in state and federal court.

In addition to her construction practice, Katelyn has experience litigating and resolving matters across various industries for clients ranging from individual homeowners to large corporations. She defends employers in employment disputes and litigation before the EEOC and in federal court, including disputes under Title VII, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She is also experienced in litigation involving business torts, premises liability and personal injury defense, and commercial disputes.

Katelyn has a strong commitment to public service and serves as the Pro Bono Chair of Baker Donelson's Birmingham office. She has an active pro bono practice and has represented clients in domestic relations and eviction matters as well as post-conviction relief. Katelyn sits on the junior board of Smile-A-Mile and on the board of the ACE Mentor Program of Alabama. Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Katelyn served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Madeline H. Haikala of the Northern District of Alabama, and she served as an AmeriCorps member at a regional non-profit based in Alabama for three years prior to law school.
