Mr. Canales-Rojas is a member of the Financial Services and Litigation Compliance Group, where he maintains a diverse litigation practice. Mr. Canales-Rojas represents clients on a wide variety of litigation matters, including financial services litigation, complex commercial litigation, insurance litigation, real estate litigation and various other complex litigation matters in federal, state and appellate courts.
He has served as the co-lead attorney for more than 150 litigation matters pertaining to financial services and banking litigation, general commercial litigation, insurance litigation, real estate litigation, and construction litigation.
While Mr. Canales-Rojas focuses his practice primarily on litigation matters, he provides general counsel to business owners in several industries, including automotive supply distributors, construction contractors, real estate investors/developers, and others.
Mr. Canales-Rojas draws on his broad litigation and transactional experience to counsel clients by drafting and reviewing contracts, negotiating in the early stages of a dispute before proceeding to court, ensuring compliance with applicable industry laws and regulations, and implementing other preventative and cost-saving measures to proactively avoid lawsuits and other potentially costly liabilities.
Mr. Canales-Rojas earned his Juris Doctor degree from Florida International University College of Law, where he was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient and a research assistant to Judge Phyllis Kotey. Prior to law school, Mr. Canales-Rojas worked as a judicial intern to Judge James Lawrence King of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Mr. Canales-Rojas is bilingual (English and Spanish) and has a working knowledge of Italian.
