David Blue is an associate in the Firm's Charlotte office and a member of the Complex Litigation and Class Action Group.

Professional Biography


David has experience guiding clients through all aspects of litigation from start to finish.

His practice includes advising clients on complex business disputes, including commercial contracts litigation, construction litigation, and defense of claims brought under the Unfair Trade Practices Act. In addition to commercial and construction litigation, David's practice includes premises liability, insurance defense, and products liability and mass tort matters involving heavy equipment, motor vehicles, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.

  • Represented a tool manufacturer in an action against the former CEO for the collection of an unpaid loan and seeking a declaratory judgment that the CEO was not entitled to any post-termination payment.

  • Defended a tool manufacturer in a breach of contract action in Texas; the case was dismissed pursuant to a forum-selection clause requiring the action to be brought in North Carolina.

  • Represented a financial institution handling and advising on defaults and collection efforts for an equipment leasing portfolio.

  • Defended a company that provides video surveillance services to automobile dealerships in an action alleging breach of contract and unfair and deceptive trade practices because the dealership was broken into; the unfair and deceptive trade practices claim was dismissed, and the case eventually settled.

  • Defended and settled multiple premises liability actions on behalf of a large telecommunications provider.

  • Defended and settled multiple premises liability actions on behalf of an institutional home renter.

  • Defended and settled a personal injury and products liability action on behalf of large elevator manufacturer and retailer.

  • Defended and settled a construction litigation matter on behalf of a large elevator manufacturer and retailer related to a multimillion-dollar residential and commercial construction project in Greensboro, North Carolina.

  • Represented multiple tenants in pro-bono actions against landlords for breach of implied warranty of habitability and improperly withholding a security deposit; all settled.

  • Advised multiple clients in pro-bono matters seeking to expunge drivers license suspensions.
