Bethany's practice focuses on the defense of clients in high-stakes cases in state and federal court. She represents clients in complex tort matters with an emphasis on hospitality and franchising.
Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Bethany staffed a variety of civil matters at a boutique litigation firm where she researched and drafted statements of claim, discovery documents, motions and other trial documents for complex civil matters. She advised partners and senior attorneys on litigation strategy, discovery and court hearings in multi-district litigation and class action cases.
Bethany gained legal experience as a judicial extern at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. She conducted research, reviewed pleadings and attended hearings on a variety of matters. Bethany drafted legal memoranda and orders for Honorable Judge William M. Ray, II in civil and criminal matters, including cases concerning the Fourth Amendment, bankruptcy and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
