Andrew Roach concentrates his practice in litigation with a focus on complex torts as well as commercial and business litigation.

Professional Biography


Andrew Roach is an associate in Baker Donelson's Atlanta office and a member of the Advocacy Department.

Andrew focuses his litigation practice on representing businesses in numerous industries and markets, including general contractors, third-party administrators, and motor vehicle carriers, in contract disputes, claims for negligence, fraud or other claims of wrongful acts, disputes among business owners, and insurance coverage disputes. He assists with the coordination of nationwide litigation for an Atlanta-based global company.

Andrew was involved in several law organizations throughout his academic career, including serving as the Community Service Liaison and Bar Governor in the Student Bar Association and serving as the Dean's Fellow for his law school's Academic Success Program. Andrew is a veteran of the U.S. Army. During his service, he was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

  • Won a motion to dismiss on behalf of a large insurance syndicate in a federal class action lawsuit brought by food and beverage vendors. The vendors alleged the company wrongfully denied coverage for losses incurred during government-mandated business closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the court dismissed the class action claims with prejudice.

  • Won a motion for summary judgment on behalf of an Atlanta-based global company in a lawsuit brought by a large owner and operator of hospital facilities. The plaintiff alleged the company acted negligently and breached their contract in the provision of workers' compensation claim services, allegedly causing its insurer to disclaim coverage resulting in more than $1 million in damages. The court granted summary judgment for the company and dismissed the claims with prejudice.

  • Won a motion to quash, obtained a protective order, and recovered attorneys' fees on behalf of a client in response to a months-long campaign of abusive discovery conduct toward the client by a group of individual plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the client's business customer.
