Alex Hall is a litigation attorney in the Firm's Memphis office and a member of the Health Care Litigation Group.

Professional Biography


Alex assists clients in a variety of litigation matters, including health care liability, commercial litigation, employment law, insurance defense, personal injury, products liability, and torts. In addition to his litigation experience, Alex has experience in gaming law and intellectual property.

Alex has an extensive background defending health care providers, employers, corporations, and franchisees in state and federal courts. He has obtained multiple case dismissals in the early stages of litigation and has tried cases to favorable jury and bench verdicts. Additionally, he has advised digital growth-stage companies operating in the sports gambling and fantasy sports space on compliance and regulatory issues, and he regularly speaks about gaming-related topics at legal conferences across the state.

  • Obtained a jury verdict in a medical malpractice trial involving allegations that an anesthesiologist deviated from the standard of care while performing a femoral nerve block.

  • Drafted and argued a motion to exclude expert witness testimony resulting in dismissal of a premises liability action against a national historic landmark one week before trial.

  • Obtained a bench verdict in a breach of contract action involving constructive eviction and obligations under the Uniform Residential Landlord Tenant Act.

  • Successfully argued a motion to set aside default judgment two years after issuance based on insufficient service of process.

  • Drafted argument in appellate brief that successfully affirmed dismissal of claims brought under the Tennessee Health Care Liability Act against attorneys of a foreign adoption agency.

  • Collaborated with counsel for a global technology company in successfully quashing a deposition subpoena issued in multi-district medical device litigation to a former company executive.

  • Obtained early dismissal of a trade secrets misappropriation suit against a national advertising company by establishing that plaintiff had insufficient evidence to support its claims following discovery.
