Overview

Ms. Cooper is chair of the Firm's Product Liability and Mass Tort Group. Her practice focuses on assisting companies and governments with ongoing legal issues and litigation matters, including coordination of nationwide litigation and development of in-house legal project management programs.

Ms. Cooper has a strong commitment to the advancement and support of women in the legal profession. She is active in the Firm's Women's Initiative where she has served as a member of the Advisory Committee, chair of the Marketing Committee, Atlanta office liaison and parental leave advisor, and is a founding member of the Association of Corporate Counsel Georgia Chapter Women's Initiative Steering Committee. She is the 2018 recipient of the Baker Donelson Work-Life Warrior Award in recognition of her commitment to promoting a healthy work-life balance and for advocating on behalf of work-life balance issues for others. Ms. Cooper presently serves on the Firm's Atlanta Strategic Planning Committee and is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel.

  • Defense of errors and omissions claims arising out of third-party administrator services.

  • Summary judgment in a case where an insurance policyholder sought to impose a duty to warn upon a third-party administrator for wrongful death arising out of Superstorm Sandy.

  • Defense verdict at jury trial on claims of negligence, trespass, strict liability for ultra hazardous activity and nuisance, arising out of claims by several adjacent property owners that effluent ponds at waste water treatment facility in Florida were causing subsurface migration of water and contaminants to their property.

  • Defense verdict in a federal jury trial on behalf of a development company against claims for alleged Clean Water Act violations, trespass and nuisance, arising out of the development of a residential subdivision.

  • Defense of municipalities and utility companies in claims arising from operation of storm water, waste water and drinking water facilities and systems.
