Kenya represents clients in litigation, crisis management, cybersecurity/data privacy, and education matters. Her litigation practice includes serving as national litigation counsel in K-12 matters and representing colleges and universities in litigation and crisis response. She also advises higher education institutions and financial institutions on crisis management matters.
In her cybersecurity and data privacy practice, Kenya counsels clients on information governance, risk assessment, incident response, corporate compliance, and the management of electronically stored information. Her experience includes developing cybersecurity and information governance programs and working with organizations in critical infrastructure sectors, including utilities, communications, energy, education, government, information technology, and the defense industrial base.
Kenya previously served as Director of White House Information Governance for the Executive Office of the President, where she oversaw information governance functions that included digital forensics, records management, information assurance, and eDiscovery. She also served as Assistant Director of the Federal Trade Commission's Division of Litigation Technology and Analysis and held information governance and eDiscovery roles with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
In addition to her government service and private practice experience, Kenya has held senior legal and operational positions with technology and risk management companies, including roles as general counsel, chief operating officer, and director of information governance. She began her legal career in private practice, handling general, health care, and technology litigation.
Kenya has spoken on over 100 panels and podcasts on topics from Crisis Management to Cybersecurity.
