Josh Kravec is an associate in Baker Donelson's Fort Lauderdale office. He assists clients primarily in the area of trusts and estates, with experience in fiduciary and probate litigation, estate planning, and estate administration.

Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Josh spent time in the financial sector working with mortgage-backed security (MBS) sales and trading, and public relations and marketing for financial institutions.

  • Defended an estate beneficiary in a lawsuit by a family member to recover estate assets received by the beneficiary. Settled the case on favorable terms.

  • Represented a national bank in the termination of several trusts.

  • Represented a trust beneficiary in extensive litigation spanning various trusts and secured multiple distributions for the client during the pendency of the litigation.

  • Successfully represented personal representatives in probate proceedings to administer their father's estate and to liquidate and distribute funds from a financial account held in the decedent's name.

  • Represented a decedent's family members in a will and trust contest concerning possible asset misappropriation by the decedent's caretaker and business partners during his infirmity.

  • Successfully represented a decedent's niece, the successor personal representative of the estate, in litigation to recover her rightful inheritance pursuant to the decedent's will after the decedent's probate assets were misdirected while the decedent was in hospice.

  • Represented a decedent's son, the personal representative of his mother's estate, in a successful appeal to allow him to participate in evidentiary proceedings surrounding guardian and attorneys' fees awarded during the decedent's guardianship.

  • Provided comprehensive estate planning services, including the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.

  • Defended the daughter and beneficiary of a decedent's estate and trust in litigation brought by the decedent's stepchildren.

  • Represented a beneficiary in a breach-of-fiduciary duty dispute with the trustee concerning a Florida trust.

  • Represented the personal representative of an estate containing a QTIP trust, addressing potential disputes over asset valuation between the QTIP trustees and the estate's representative.

  • Secured a dismissal with prejudice of a lawsuit filed by a water mitigation vendor, with the court finding that the subject insurance policy's anti-assignment provision was enforceable, which also led to an award of entitlement to attorney's fees to our client.
