Baker Donelson's Robert Wells Named to Savoy Magazine's 2022 Most Influential Black Lawyers

Baker Donelson attorney Robert Wells has been recognized by Savoy Magazine in its 2022 Most Influential Black Lawyers list.

The full listing is comprised of the "best of the best" of Black lawyers who are partners within leading national law firms, as well as corporate and general counsel from Fortune 1,000 corporations. This issue of the magazine focuses on the top lawyers, showcasing visionaries, leaders and advocates within the legal profession who are widely recognized for their professionalism, protection of rights and community service.

Mr. Wells, a shareholder in the Firm's Baltimore office, focuses his practice on health care regulatory and corporate matters, representing long-established and startup health care companies to help clients meet their business goals and objectives while complying with applicable health care rules and regulations. He handles complex legal and operational matters, such as the development and implementation of corporate compliance programs that involve the integration of corporate governance, business operations, risk management and compliance; and the challenging regulatory issues governing pharmaceutical and medical device companies. In addition, Mr. Wells has assisted with the development and growth of innovative technology and health care data analytics partnerships. His regulatory compliance experience involves both federal and state issues, including fraud and abuse laws; corporate governance; reimbursement issues; the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and state and international privacy laws; and health care licensure, certification and accreditation.

A member of the American Health Law Association, Mr. Wells is also a member of the board of directors of the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) and has served on the privacy board of Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. He is recognized as a leading health care attorney in both Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America®.
