Baker Donelson's Alex Koskey Earns Payment Card Industry Professional Certification

Alex Koskey of the law firm Baker Donelson has earned a Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP) credential from the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).

The PCIP is a certification in payment security information and demonstrates a level of understanding for ensuring a secure payment environment. Mr. Koskey works with businesses on complying with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards, and counsels clients on the necessary and appropriate steps to take when a data incident involves credit card information or payment card systems. This certification demonstrates his knowledge of the issues that affect entities that store, process, or transmit cardholder data.

A shareholder in the Firm's Atlanta office, Mr. Koskey is a member of Baker Donelson's Financial Services Litigation and Compliance Group and is co-chair of the Financial Services Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Team. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US, CIPP/E) in U.S. and European data privacy regulations and represents financial institutions and organizations on a wide range of data privacy, regulatory and compliance, and litigation matters. As a member of the Firm's Data Incident Response Team, Mr. Koskey routinely leads forensic investigations into cyber incidents, evaluates potential reporting requirements to impacted individuals, and defends regulatory investigations that may arise from such incidents. In addition to his data privacy practice, he advises clients on regulatory and compliance issues impacting the financial services industry, including licensing issues in the automobile finance industry and federal consumer protection issues. A graduate of the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, Mr. Koskey has been named a Rising Star by Georgia Super Lawyers.
