Baker Donelson Supports the Women ABA Presidents' Perspective on Barriers to Women's Success in the Industry

Baker Donelson Senior Managing Shareholder and Past President of the American Bar Association (ABA), Linda A. Klein, joined by nine other women ABA presidents recently authored the piece, "Women's Success in Legal Careers: Lack of Advancement is Not a 'Woman' Problem, it's a 'Profession' Problem." Baker Donelson fully supports the perspective of Ms. Klein and her fellow ABA women presidents.

Baker Donelson is a firm where women thrive. Our gender-neutral parental leave policy is utilized equally by women and men. Our 2021 new equity shareholder class includes more women than men and 94 percent of that new class are parents. In addition, 83 percent of our women equity shareholders are parents.

The Firm's Alternative Work Arrangements Committee has successfully created alternate career paths and flexibility for attorneys, including women who were elevated to equity shareholder while on reduced hour arrangements. We understand that career success is defined by the attorney, and not by her firm. Baker Donelson stands by every woman in giving her the tools she needs to be successful, as she defines it.
