Baker Donelson Adds Sheila Turybury in New Role of Chief People Officer

Sheila Turybury, a human resources executive with more than 30 years of experience, has joined the national law firm of Baker Donelson as its chief people officer, a new position created to focus on enriching the purpose, development, and engagement of every individual within the Firm.

Ms. Turybury, who will be based in the Firm's Baltimore, Maryland, office, brings a strong track record of developing corporate strategies and human resources initiatives that sharpen organizational effectiveness and capacity for positive evolution. Her background encompasses leadership and HR roles in professional services, real estate investment services, and charitable organizations, including most recently serving as vice president of human resources with the law firm of Venable LLP for more than 12 years.

Baker Donelson Chair and Chief Executive Officer Timothy M. Lupinacci said, "Our people are the foundation of our success and our ability to best serve our clients. The chief people officer role was designed to build on that foundation through a firm-wide strategy focused on our people in support of the Firm's strategic plan. Sheila has shown she has the talent and skill to design and implement better ways of working and caring for people, so we are confident she will excel in this role by enhancing employee experience, organizational performance, and client satisfaction."

As chief people officer, Ms. Turybury will lead the Firm's people-driven functions, including human resources, talent development, and training.

"Baker Donelson has long had a reputation as a uniquely people-focused law firm, and the creation of this specific role takes that focus to the next level," said Ms. Turybury. "I look forward to spending these first few months visiting the Firm's offices to learn more about its outstanding culture so that I can build engagement and enhance the workplace experience for every Baker Donelson employee."

In addition to her experience in the legal industry, Ms. Turybury's background includes leadership and human resources positions with Enterprise Community Partners, a leading national non-profit focused on affordable housing, and the Annie E.
