Our vision, values and guiding principles provide the foundation for everything we do.

Baker Donelson's Vision and Values start with a guiding principle to work together as an integrated team of professionals and provide outstanding legal counsel and services to our clients.

Those values are based on four pillars that serve as a guide for everything we do and define our commitment to the following:

  • Placing our Clients First, understanding their businesses, needs and goals and proactively expanding the ways we help them succeed;
  • Delivering, as One Firm, outstanding expertise, service, quality and value every time;
  • Attracting and retaining the best and brightest people, of great personal character, who embrace our Shared Beliefs of integrity, diversity, accomplishment, mutual respect and support, and a commitment to the betterment of our communities, our nation and our profession; and
  • Expanding our capabilities for our clients and the opportunities for our professionals, through Smart Growth from our offices throughout the United States.

To help ensure that our Vision and Values are much more than just a poster on the wall, we initiated the Clients First program to bring the Firm's values to life and help every attorney and employee live them every day. The primary components of the initiative are Baker Donelson's Standards of Excellence and Daily Docket teams and meetings.

Our Daily Dockets serve to set the tone for the day, with a goal of keeping client service top-of-mind for each Baker Donelson attorney and staff member. Every person is encouraged to attend one of these short sessions, in which one of the Standards is featured each week, on a rotating basis, and examples of excellent client service, anecdotes, professional tips, Firm news and more are shared.

While the Daily Docket strengthens our culture of service, it is also a tool for employees at all levels to get to know one another. Not only does it help teams build closer relationships which, in turn, lead to better work product, but it connects the entire Firm across all 23 offices, because everyone hears the same message every day.
