Mr. Kidd is a member of the Advocacy Department and is an experienced litigator who has tried and/or arbitrated cases to verdict in the business, product liability, and premises liability areas. Mr. Kidd has litigated numerous other cases in preparation for trial and positioned them for favorable settlements, and has significant litigation experience in areas ranging from consumer finance to constitutional violations.
Mr. Kidd's extensive litigation experience includes defending against complex, high exposure matters, including product liability, business disputes, lending, toxic tort, catastrophic personal injury, insurance coverage, and mass actions. He has served as counsel in PFAS litigation and defends against claims alleging airborne and groundwater contamination. He handles large scale insurance coverage disputes, including one arising from hundreds of underlying personal injury claims where he secured a $160 million directed verdict, and he has successfully litigated personal jurisdiction challenges resulting in dismissal of foreign entities. Mr. Kidd has also obtained favorable verdicts in numerous state and federal jury trials , including plaintiff's verdicts in the business space, defense verdicts in cases involving product design and manufacturing defect allegations related to automotive and industrial products, and has obtained summary judgment in product liability matters affirmed on appeal. He is also intimately involved in achieving remedies for clients like temporary restraining orders and/or injunctions. Lastly, he achieved one of Mississippi's first dismissals of a product manufacturer under Daimler/Bauman.
Mr. Kidd is a member of the Firm's 24 Hour Motor Carrier Emergency Response Team, a group of attorneys dedicated to providing rapid post-accident intervention and investigation throughout the Firm's footprint and beyond, whenever and wherever you need us.
Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Kidd was a clerk in the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals for the Honorable E. Grady Jolly.
