Mr. Whitley chairs the Firm's Government Enforcement & Investigations Group, representing clients globally in white collar criminal and regulatory enforcement matters, corporate internal investigations, health care fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and U.S. export controls and compliance matters. Mr. Whitley previously served in several high level positions at the Department of Justice, including U.S. Attorney in the Middle (Macon) and Northern (Atlanta) Districts of Georgia, and Acting Associate Attorney General at Main Justice. In 2003, President George W. Bush appointed Mr. Whitley to serve as the first General Counsel at the Department of Homeland Security immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
