Shawn Sentilles offers clients more than 25 years of experience with intellectual property litigation, patent and trademark prosecution, trade secret protection, intellectual property licensing and due diligence.

Professional Biography


Mr. Sentilles provides broad insight when representing clients in intellectual property litigation, patent and trademark prosecution, trade secret protection, intellectual property licensing and due diligence.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Sentilles served as in-house patent counsel at a multi-national publicly-traded medical device company, where he oversaw intellectual property litigation, patent and trademark prosecution, trade secret protection, intellectual property clearance, acquisitions and divestitures, licensing and health care compliance. He played a leading role in helping the company successfully comply with a Deferred Prosecution Agreement.

  • Developed and managed an intellectual property portfolio for a multi-national publicly traded orthopedic-device company, ultimately contributing to the divestiture of a large part of the business.

  • Managed intellectual property litigation and patent and trademark portfolios on a global basis, with exposure to legal systems in Europe, Asia, Australia and South America.

  • Gained significant experience in health care compliance while at a medical device company, including investigations by the Department of Justice and the Office of Inspector General.

  • Experienced with fair-market value valuations for payment of royalties in the context of health care fraud and abuse.
