Day 3: ABA Virtual National Institute on Health Care Fraud

Join Baker Donelson shareholders Michael E. Clark and Thomas H. Barnard for the third day of the Virtual 2020 National Institute of Health Care Fraud presented by the American Bar Association. The ABA's National Institutes are topic-based conferences to bring attendees face-to-face with nationally recognized experts on substantive topics.

The third day programming will focus on examining the nationwide COVID-19 crisis and topics in nursing home fraud and patient abuse cases.

  • 12:10 – 1:40 p.m. ET
    • Federal and State Enforcement During COVID-19: Michael E. Clark will be moderating a panel that will examine the enforcement efforts for combating the nationwide COVID-19 crisis. The panelists will discuss strategies, goals and the forecast for future progress.
       
  • 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. ET
    • Fraud and Abuse in Nursing Homes: Thomas H. Barnard will be discussing hot topics in nursing home fraud and patient abuse cases. Topics covered in this interactive panel discussion will include criminal investigations and prosecutions in cases involving allegations of patient abuse; investigations and False Claims Act cases involving allegations of substandard care; and criminal and civil cases involving allegations of financial fraud and false claims by nursing home providers.
