Matt White of Baker Donelson has earned certification as a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
The CIPM is the world's first and only certification in privacy program management. In earning this credential, Mr. White has demonstrated his proficiency using process and technology to manage a privacy program across all stages of its lifecycle. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), earning the CIPP/US concentration from the IAPP earlier this year, which focuses on the U.S. private sector.
A shareholder in Baker Donelson's Memphis office, Mr. White defends national and regional securities firms and their registered representatives in a wide range of matters including customer-initiated arbitrations and litigation, as well as in enforcement proceedings and investigations by the SEC, self-regulatory and compliance matters, including cybersecurity and data privacy-related issues. As a member of the Firm's Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity Team, Mr. White provides counsel on a range of privacy and security matters, including all facets of electronic information management, cyber liability, risk management, data issues and data breaches.
