Baker Donelson Adds Former General Counsel of GE's Capital Markets Group

Mark Kohler Joins Firm's Financial Services Transactions Group

Baker Donelson has added Mark Kohler, a 20-year veteran of GE Capital, to its Financial Services Transactions Group.

Mr. Kohler, who joins as a shareholder in the Firm's Baltimore office, was the General Counsel Capital Markets Syndication for GE Capital Holdings, Inc. Prior to assuming that role, he held positions of growing responsibility within GE Capital as a General Counsel for GE Capital Americas, Senior Counsel for GE Commercial Equipment Financing and GE Capital Solutions, and Counsel and Region Counsel for GE Capital's Commercial Equipment Financing division. Mr. Kohler was also a member of GE Capital Americas' Legal Advisory Board from 2009 to 2014. Prior to joining GE Capital, Mr. Kohler was an associate for eight years with the law firm of Ober|Kaler, which combined with Baker Donelson in January 2017.

Mr. Kohler is the chairman of the Legislative & Regulatory Subcommittee of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association's (ELFA) Legal Committee, where he has held various leadership roles since 2009. In 2013, he received ELFA's Edward A. Groobert Excellence in Leasing Award for his significant contributions to the equipment leasing and finance industry and to the ELFA Legal Committee.

Mr. Kohler holds a J.D. from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
