Matt Sweeney Named Member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals

(Nashville, TN/March 16, 2011) Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC is pleased to announce that Matt Sweeney, a shareholder in the Firm's Nashville office, has been named a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN), a professional association of attorneys distinguished by their experience in civil and commercial conflict resolution and by their commitment to methods of alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Sweeney is a business trial and appellate attorney, mediator and arbitrator. Formerly a Circuit Court Judge in Nashville and Presiding Judge of the district's Trial Courts, Mr. Sweeney has mediated or arbitrated hundreds of cases in the southeastern United States. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2005. He has also been recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers as a leading business litigation attorney.

Mr. Sweeney has taught trial practice as an adjunct faculty member at Vanderbilt Law School and civil procedure as a lecturer at the Nashville School of Law. He is a regular speaker and panelist in continuing legal education programs on trial practice, alternative dispute resolution, and ethics and professionalism.

Membership in the NADN, the nation's largest professional association of top-tier neutrals, is by invitation only and is limited to professional mediators and arbitrators who are well established as trusted neutrals among the legal community within their state of practice. All Academy members have been found to meet stringent practice criteria and are among the most in-demand neutrals in their respective states, as nominated by both local peers and litigation firms.
