Universal? You Bet: Round 2 of the D.C. Universal Paid Leave Act – Employee Benefits Available on July 1, 2020

Webinar

Last year, the D.C. Universal Paid Leave Act's (UPLA) tax provisions went into effect. As of July 1, 2019, "covered employers" are required to contribute an amount equal to 0.62 percent of the wages of each of their "covered employees" to the Universal Paid Leave Implementation Fund.

Effective July 1, 2020, UPLA paid benefits are available to employees. Join us for an overview of UPLA requirements and the benefit regulations, a discussion about the interplay between the UPLA, current employer-provided leave benefits, and existing laws, and other considerations as employers get ready to comply with the benefits regulations and the D.C. Department of Employment Services in its administration of UPLA benefits.
