Joe Hack serves as senior vice president of The Daschle Group, a Public Policy Advisory of Baker Donelson.

Professional Biography

As senior vice president with The Daschle Group (TDG), a Public Policy Advisory of Baker Donelson, Joe provides strategic and public policy counsel to a broad range of clients working in technology, defense issues, infrastructure, trade policy, and civil rights. Joe maintains strong relationships with policymakers on both sides of the aisle and has significant experience in Senate politics and procedures. He also has significant campaign experience and has overseen and consulted on a number of U.S. Senate races.

Prior to joining TDG, Joe spent 12 years as a senior advisor in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, including more than six years as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (NE). In that role, he acted as the senator's closest advisor on all policy, communications, and campaign operations. He initially served Fischer as Communications Director and Deputy Chief of Staff. Prior to that, he worked for Senate Whip Jon Kyl as Communications Director and chief spokesman. Joe is also a veteran of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served as Press Secretary and Legislative Assistant for Rep. J. Randy Forbes (VA-04). He began his career in the office of Senator George Voinovich (OH).

Joe chaired the Senate Republican Chiefs of Staff Working Group, which convenes all Republican chiefs of staff and committee staff directors each week for strategy and discussion. In addition, he co-chaired the Stennis Center's "Bipartisan Defense Dialogues", an informal dinner series with top defense policy aides and senior military commanders.

Joe was recognized by The Hill as a Top Lobbyist in 2022. He is also a 2022 Maverick PAC Future40 Awardee. The Future40 award recognizes young professionals across the country that embody the next generation of leadership in the public and private sectors.

In 2017, Joe was named by POLITICO as a top Senate operative in the "New Guard" Power List, a guide described as “crucial to understanding the players who are breaking through in the all-consuming era of Donald Trump."
