Jeffrey M. Pomeroy Joins Baker Donelson's Real Estate Practice

Baker Donelson has expanded its real estate practice with the addition of Jeffrey M. Pomeroy, who has joined as a shareholder in the Firm's Birmingham office.

Mr. Pomeroy focuses his practice on the development, acquisition, disposition, leasing, management and financing of commercial and mixed-use real estate projects. He has extensive retail, office, hospitality, multi-family and mixed-use real estate experience, and regularly handles all phases of purchase, sale, lease and loan transactions. He advises and assists clients with issues relating to the development, construction, financing, leasing, management, operation and disposition of commercial real estate assets, including issues related to joint venture structure and formation, project entitlements and development incentives.

Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Pomeroy was executive vice president and general counsel for Bayer Properties, L.L.C., a Birmingham-based full-service real estate company specializing in development, leasing and management of acclaimed retail and mixed-use projects across the country, such as The Summit located in Birmingham, Alabama and Reno, Nevada, and The Summit at Fritz Farm in Lexington (Kentucky), as well as the redevelopment of the historic Pizitz building in Birmingham.

A graduate of the Cumberland School of Law, Mr. Pomeroy is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute. Since 2017, he has served as vice chair of the City of Hoover, Alabama Industrial Development Board. Mr. Pomeroy has previously served as director and president of the Alabama Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. He currently serves as chair of the board of directors of the Alabama Appleseed Center for Law and Justice.
