A shareholder in the Baltimore office and a member of the Firm's Corporate Group, Mr. Tirone has nearly 30 years of experience in energy project and infrastructure development. He specifically advises clients in the power and renewable energy, oil and gas, biofuels, and transportation sectors. He has counseled energy sector clients globally and throughout the U.S. on energy projects relating to financing and building new facilities, negotiating complex engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts and power purchase agreements, selling and acquiring power generation facilities, handling joint U.S. and international ventures, and developing and operating cogeneration and power generation plants. He also advises retail energy suppliers on commercial and regulatory aspects of their businesses.

"Joe has established himself as a leading energy transactions attorney. His emphasis on energy project and infrastructure development and finance is a tremendous addition to our Firm's offering as we position our clients to take advantage of the anticipated surge of infrastructure opportunities," said James E. Edwards Jr., managing shareholder of Baker Donelson's Baltimore office.

Kenneth M. Klemm, co-chair of the Firm's Energy Industry Service Team, added, "Joe's deep experience in the renewables sector makes him a timely addition to our Energy Team as the nation is seeing a major shift in energy policy from the new administration. He is going to be a tremendous asset to Baker Donelson's energy practice and our clients."

Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Tirone was a leader of the energy team for a transatlantic law firm that handled projects around the world. He also served as in-house counsel for a U.S. industry-leading independent power producer. A graduate of Notre Dame Law School, Mr. Tirone serves as a board member of the Business Network for Offshore Wind, is the Chair of the Energy & Environment Committee of the British-American Business Association, and is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) and the Energy Bar Association (EBA).
