Mr. Highsmith, a member of the Firm's Advocacy Department, focuses his practice on insurance defense matters and general commercial litigation. He also has experience in civil litigation, criminal defense, estate planning, and probate.
Prior to his private law practice, Mr. Highsmith served as an assistant district attorney for the Third Judicial District for seven years. He handled a diverse caseload ranging from first-degree murder and other serious felonies to misdemeanor assaults and DUIs. He has handled thousands of cases and has extensive experience in the courtroom and at the negotiating table.
