Health Care Attorney Alisa L. Chestler Joins Baker Donelson

(Washington, D.C./February 21, 2008) Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC announces the addition of Alisa L. Chestler as of counsel in the Firm's Washington, D.C. office.

Ms. Chestler concentrates her practice in the area of health law. She has experience in health care operations, health care contracting, regulatory and licensing matters, disease management, HIPAA, government contracting and procurement. Ms. Chestler previously was Vice President, Associate General Counsel at APS Healthcare, Inc., where she was responsible for legal oversight of all federal and state regulatory compliance issues, including licensing, HIPAA and state regulatory activities, information technology matters, compliance and operational issues, policy and procedural development. Her extensive experience as in-house counsel includes complex IT licensing agreements and real estate leases. She has worked for several large health care companies and insurers, including CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and Magellan Health Services.

A 1994 graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, Ms. Chestler serves as Vice Chairman of the Compliance Committee of the Disease Management Association of America. She is also a member of the American Health Law Association and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
