Persons Returning from China Excluded or Quarantined

The President of the U.S. has issued a Proclamation ordering the prevention of entry (including prevention of boarding a vessel traveling to the U.S.) people who are not citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. who have been physically present within the People's Republic of China, excluding Hong Kong and Macau, during the 14-day period preceding their entry into the United States. Exemptions from the bar on entry apply to various close relatives of citizens and permanent residents and others with specific exempted purposes listed in the Proclamation. The Proclamation authorizes appropriate screening and where appropriate quarantine of persons who enter the U.S. who may have been exposed to the virus.
