Lang Wiseman, a shareholder with the national law firm of Baker Donelson, has been appointed by Governor Bill Lee to the Tennessee Nuclear Energy Advisory Council.
The council, recently created by Executive Order 101 to position Tennessee as a national leader for nuclear energy innovation and advancement, will provide recommendations to drive continued nuclear energy innovation and investment across Tennessee.
Mr. Wiseman, who practices from the Firm's offices in both Nashville and Memphis, provides strategic guidance and litigation counsel to help clients successfully navigate the complex challenges and opportunities at the intersection of business, government, law, media, and policy. Prior to joining Baker Donelson, he served as Deputy Governor and Chief Counsel to Governor Lee, acting as a liaison between Governor Lee's office, the legislature, and the various departments and agencies in state government.
Mr. Wiseman's practice focuses on providing political, legal, and legislative advice and insight to clients in a wide range of industries, including energy, manufacturing, health care, transportation, automotive, real estate, and financial services, as well as educational institutions and local governments and economic development districts.
Before his appointment as Deputy Governor and Chief Counsel to the Governor, Mr. Wiseman practiced law in Baker Donelson's Memphis office and was a founding partner at the Memphis law firm Wiseman Bray PLLC. A graduate of the Harvard Law School, he has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® in Commercial Litigation and Government Relations, and he is a member of the American, Tennessee and Memphis Bar Associations. Mr. Wiseman received his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, achieving the Top Graduate of the College of Business while serving as co-captain of the university's basketball team.
