Baker Donelson Hosts Fifth Annual Cybersecurity Conference: Cybercon 2019

Baker Donelson presents Cybercon 2019, the fifth annual conference focused on the issues affecting the continually evolving cybersecurity landscape. The event, which will be held on September 24 at the Loudermilk Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia, brings together business and governmental leaders to demystify cybersecurity risk and identify practical mitigation strategies with measurable impact to a company's bottom line.

Cybercon provides a forum for business owners, senior executives, board members, counsel, and CIOs and CISOs across industries to learn cybersecurity best practices from recognized matter experts.

The event's keynote session, "The Rising Trends of Cybercrime: How We Can All Prepare for 2020," will feature a Fireside Chat with Michael D'Ambrosio, the Assistant Director of the U.S. Secret Service's Office of Investigations, and Jocelyn Hunter, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel with The Home Depot.

Mr. D'Ambrosio is the senior executive leading the 162 field offices of the Secret Service, which fight cybercrime and protect the U.S. financial system. He is responsible for the administration and resourcing of 40 Electronic Crime Task Forces (ECTF) and 46 Financial Crimes Task Forces (FCTF).

Ms. Hunter is responsible for legal issues relating to corporate and securities, commercial litigation and tax as well as general counsel for two of The Home Depot's business units. Since early 2014, she has been the leader of the company's cross-functional team charged with responding to data incidents.

Cybercon 2019 will also feature two interactive breach simulation sessions focused specifically on the financial services and the smart device manufacturing industries. The sessions will feature an incident response team consisting of legal, forensic and crisis communications, designed to offer participants advice on making fast-paced decisions to respond to new developments in cyber crisis under time pressure.

The conference will also include innovative roundtable sessions on cybersecurity:

  • Your Supply Chain: Do Your Vendor Contracts Adequately Address Security Needs
  • How to Protect Your Customers' Information
  • Cyber M&A: Due Diligence
  • GDPR: Lessons Learned in the First Year and Implications for U.S. Privacy Law Regime
