Baker Donelson Announces 2020 Diversity Scholarship Program Recipients

Baker Donelson has named the 2020 recipients of the annual Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship: Divine Collins, Harrison DuPont and Kelsey Morgan.

Ms. Collins, a graduate of Spelman College, is in her second year at the University of Chicago Law School and will be a summer associate in the Firm's Houston office.

Mr. DuPont is in his second year at the University of Memphis School of Law and will be a summer associate in the Firm's Memphis office. He is a graduate of the University of California at Davis and also holds a master's degree from Maryville University of St. Louis.

Ms. Morgan, who is in her second year at the University of Tennessee College of Law and is a graduate of Georgetown University, will be a summer associate in the Firm's Nashville office.

The three recipients were selected from 118 applicants attending 52 law schools across the country, including New York University School of Law, Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Tulane Law School, University of Alabama School of Law, University of California Irvine School of Law, University of Georgia School of Law, University of Michigan Law School, University of Mississippi School of Law, University of Tennessee College of Law and Washington and Lee University School of Law.

Mark A. Baugh, chair of Baker Donelson's Diversity Committee, said, "Each year, I am impressed by the number of talented applicants we receive for this program. This is evidence of the ongoing need for programs that address the challenges facing minorities and women who desire to be a part of the legal profession. We're very proud of the role our Firm has played since the founding of our Diversity Scholarship in helping these deserving students pursue a career in law. We look forward to welcoming Divine, Harrison and Kelsey as part of our continuing commitment to achieving true diversity in our profession."

Established in 2008, the Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship Program awards scholarships annually to diverse law school students who have completed their first year of law school. Each recipient receives a salaried second year summer associate position in one of the Firm's 21 offices. Upon completion of the summer associate position, the Firm also awards each recipient a $10,000 scholarship during the student's third year of law school.
