Baker Donelson has once again grown its Health Law Group with the addition of Janice M. Suchyta, who joins as a shareholder in the Firm's Houston office.

Ms. Suchyta, who previously served as in-house counsel for a large health center, focuses on the strategic, regulatory and operational needs of health systems, hospitals, academic medical centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), telehealth providers, and digital start-ups. She provides strategic and regulatory guidance on the 340B Drug Discount Program, including contract pharmacy arrangements, as well as limited distribution network and other specialty pharmacy models.

Ms. Suchyta's experience also includes representing FQHCs on various matters related to the Health Center Program. She advises health centers regarding HRSA Operational Site Visits and other government agency audits; billing and contracting advice; guidance on Federal Tort Claims Act coverage and the 340B Drug Discount Program, as well as other regulatory requirements impacting health center compliance. Ms. Suchyta also advises digital and medical technology companies and providers on privacy and security matters and routinely represents telehealth providers on licensure, credentialing, privileging, online prescribing and corporate practice of medicine matters.

Ms. Suchyta is the most recent addition to Baker Donelson's expanding Health Law Group. Other notable attorneys joining the group have included health care regulatory attorneys Robert Wells and Joseph Keillor. In October 2021, the Firm expanded its geographic reach into a new market, announcing the addition of a team of six health care attorneys in North Carolina.

Brad Chambers, managing shareholder of the Firm's Houston office, said, "With the ever-evolving regulatory changes that the health care industry is facing, there is increased demand for attorneys with the insight and skills that Janice brings. She is a prime addition to our growing health care team and offers a depth of experience in areas where our clients have immediate needs."

Ms. Suchyta is a member of the American Health Law Association, where she has served as vice chair of publications for the Government Affinity Group and was a participant in the Leadership Development Program. She is also a member of the Health Law Section of the Texas Bar Association.
