Description of CLE Program: Numerous studies conclude that gender bias continues to prevent women across professions from achieving parity with their male counterparts. Employee evaluations are not often monitored for implicit bias, but have a direct impact on the professional development, assignments, compensation, and, ultimately, opportunities for advancement of women professionals. Implementing a bias-free evaluation system is a key step towards tackling these disparities. This program will review the materials and recommendations presented in the ABA Commission on Women's "Fair Measure" Evaluation System and examine how in-house lawyers can and should effectuate change within their own departments and throughout their organizations. Sample evaluation materials will also be provided.
