In 2009, the Department of Labor was criticized by the Government Accountability Office for failing to thoroughly investigate wage and hour claims. In response, the DOL hired additional investigators, sought increased funding from Congress, and stepped up its investigative efforts. Employers can expect even more activity by the DOL this year, especially in the industries targeted by the DOL. This presentation will show you what to do now to prepare yourself if you are selected for a DOL audit. Learn about the audit process, what your rights are if you are audited, the best practices to avoid wage and hour liability, and recent developments in wage and hour law.
