Chance Encounter Leads English Teacher To Legal Career at Baker Donelson

Publication: The Daily News

Editor's Note: This Law Talk is the first in a series of interviews with new shareholders in the Memphis office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC.

Angie C. Davis is one of five attorneys who earlier this year were named shareholders in the Memphis office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC.

Davis is one attorney who did not dream of practicing law when she was growing up. She originally started her career as an English teacher. It was through a twist of fate that she was able to parlay her teaching skills into a successful legal career.

Originally from South Carolina, Davis attended the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated in 1992 with a degree in English and then, after a chance meeting with an attorney, decided to go to law school a few years later. She graduated in 1999 from the South Texas College of Law in Houston.

Davis focuses her practice in the area of employment litigation and frequently speaks on the topic of labor and employment law.
