The EEOC announced last year that it would prioritize issues related to accommodating pregnancy-related limitations and the agency has done exactly that. In addition to filing a record-number of pregnancy discrimination lawsuits this year, on July 14, 2014 the EEOC issued a controversial 36-page "guidance" on pregnancy discrimination in the workplace. The Pregnant Worker's Fairness Act is currently before Congress and the Supreme Court is set to hear a pregnancy discrimination case that will address an employer's obligation to accommodate pregnant employees. There is no better time for HR professionals and in-house counsel to brush up on the latest developments in this challenging area of the law.

During the program, we will look at:

  • What the pregnancy discrimination laws do and do not require from employers;
  • How to react to the EEOC's new guidance on pregnancy accommodations;
  • When family care issues can lead to claims of pregnancy or gender discrimination;
  • Why this area of the law is so complicated; and
  • How to reduce legal risks.

Come with questions and leave with a ready-to-implement list of best practices.

Program, breakfast and parking are complimentary. Space is limited for this event.
