The conference's theme is "Toward a More Perfect Union: Civil Rights, Human Rights, and Creating a New Age of Social Responsibility," and is hosted by the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change at the University of Memphis. The Benjamin L. Hooks Institute seeks to examine the impact of the American Civil Rights Movement and its continuing impact on human and civil rights.
"A Respectable Union: How Can Corporate Practices and Human Welfare Co-Exist?" will take place on Friday, April 20 at 8:00 a.m. at the University of Memphis FedEx Institute of Technology, 365 Innovation Drive. Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 a.m.
"Toward a More Perfect Union: Civil Rights, Human Rights, and Creating a New Age of Social Responsibility," begins on Wednesday, April 18 and culminates with the Red Carpet Premiere of the documentary "Duty of the Hour" at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis.
