The 2017 Law Day theme is "The Fourteenth Amendment: Transforming American Democracy." In the 150 years since it was ratified, the Fourteenth Amendment has served as the basis of historic civil rights legislation and landmark U.S. Supreme Court decisions advancing our national principles of freedom and justice for all. During this program, the speakers discuss significant SCOTUS decisions based on the constitutional protections through the Fourteenth Amendment's guarantees of due process and equal protection of the law for all individuals. They also review steps individuals can take to uphold the Fourteenth Amendment and the resources available to assist you in these efforts.
