A federal judge has dismissed two suits targeting so-called "witness-only" real estate closings in Georgia, dealing a blow to real estate attorneys who are fighting companies that research and prepare all the documents for a transaction and then hire an attorney only to present the documents for signature. In this Daily Report article, Clint Crosby, who represents the defendants in one of the cases, comments on the judge's order dismissing the suit.
"We certainly respect and agree with the judge's order," said Mr. Crosby. "From our perspective, Judge Story did a pretty thorough analysis on the RESPA claim."
