Baker Donelson is committed to respecting our planet. We are aware of the long-term effects a law office can have on the environment, and, subsequently, climate change. BakerGreen is the program that represents the action our entire Firm is taking to reduce our carbon footprint.

Consistent with Baker Donelson's approach to environmental responsibility, BakerGreen has two primary goals: 1) lessen the Firm's impact on the environment, and 2) become a leader in the legal field through conscientious stewardship of our natural resources.

A key component has been the establishment of a BakerGreen team in each Baker Donelson office. It is the responsibility of each team to promote, implement and monitor the green efforts in their office. Many of the Firm's offices have in place an aggressive recycling campaign, which includes not only the secure recycling of paper, but also recycling programs for Styrofoam, aluminum, plastics and batteries. We are also phasing out disposable dining utensils and replacing plastic cutlery and paper plates with reusable flatware and dishes. Baker Donelson is also striving to reduce energy usage, through efforts that include setting computers to stand-by mode and using energy-efficient lighting.

Through the promotion of good corporate citizenship that lowers our environmental impact, Baker Donelson will also benefit from long-term reductions in operating costs.

It is the Firm’s goal to educate and urge attorneys, staff and clients to embrace the effort to pursue sustainable living practices. BakerGreen denotes our commitment to act with integrity, in an environmentally conscious manner, and to work to ensure a better quality of life for all.
